ONE PRAYER 2009

Harrah Church is participating in One Prayer 2009.  Last year it was awesome!  I was able to take my vacation and the church experienced some incredible teaching from gifted pastors around the world.  When people asked me who was preaching for me it was pretty cool to say, “Well this week Craig Groeschel and next week Ed Young.”    I hope you’ll join us!

One Prayer 2009: One Prayer began in 2008 with a simple idea: We pray to Jesus asking Him to answer our prayers – what if we became the answer to His? He prayed that we would be one, and One Prayer is an opportunity to see what can be accomplished when the Church works together.

Last June, thousands of churches formed unprecedented partnerships across cities, continents, denominations, and cultures. More than two million believers stood together to learn, pray, fast, and love others. This year, we’ll be joining forces once again as we go out into the world to share, serve and give during One Prayer 2009.

One prayer last year was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Although my family and I were really missing our Jimmy and his sermon’s on Sunday morning, God had a beautiful plan for us. My boyfriend James was struggling with his current job and had been offered a great position with another company.
Well he got the job (or so we thought) on a Wednesday and quit his current job that day. He was told to come in and start his new job the next day….but…..unfortunately…David Terry, the guy who had hired him had not checked with the proper individuals about hiring James. It seems that James, having the unfavorable background that he and I have would be considered quite a risk and possibly not insurable. David, who had hired James had been told after he had already hired James, that he was to let him work that day and then let him go.

Meanwhile, James is thinking that everything is just great and he has been blessed yet again. The truth of the matter is, that David who had hired James had been praying since he had been told that he had to let James go after giving him a job. You see, David is a member of LIFE CHURCH which was a big part of ONE PRAYER. He kept his faith in God and took this problem to the other members of his small group. They six of them held a prayer vigil that night and a miracle happened. The next morning when David arrived at work he received a phone call, that not only could they insure James to work for the company, he would also be allowed to have his own company vehicle.

That has been almost one year ago and I am anxious to see what kind of miracles take place in the world this year.

    Ain’t God good???
