How do you keep yourself full of joy.  Well according to a guy who is locked up in prison the key is unity.

Philippians 2:2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

This verse contains the greek phrase sunpsuchoi and it carries the idea of souls beating together in tune with Christ & each other.  Our goal is not to look the same, sound the same, or be the same but to play from the same musical score.  Here is the score:

NIV Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.

The way you keep unity in the church is by keeping the focus on reaching lost people—spreading the Good News.  This is the singular purpose that allows each of us to play different notes while keeping in tune with Christ and each other.  You can generally trace disunity in a church to a time when people turned their focus inward.  We must constantly remind ourselves that we exist to reach the lost.  That keeps us unified!  Where do you think God wants to incubate a new believer?  A place that is full of warm joy.

Christ is the maestro of a magnificent symphony.  Don’t mess it up – stay in tune!
