Marriage Is The Master’s Model

Marriage is amazing!  I mean God created this incredible institution where two people are brought together and complete each other.  What blows me away is that no one on this planet knows me better than Abby, and she still loves me. We united before God and He views us as one.  That was the beginning of my “Shelter.”  Now I have five children growing up in my house and my job is to develop each one of them into warriors for Christ.  Abby and I are responsible for teaching them how to relate to people, how to respect authority, and passing down godly values.  The bottom line is that we have been mandated by God to model for them what He is like.  This is challenging because values are caught not taught.  Joel, Jonah, Faith, Katelyn, and Zoe watch Abby & I interact in our home and they will form an ealry foundation for relating to God and other people based on that model.  That’s why I wrote Shelter. Because parents need to understand that marriage is the Master’s model.  If you want to know more its found in Chapter 3.

Yes and that model is what adults view as normal.
But what is normal? We have the ability to make
a change to the normal in which we live. I think,
myself included, people think what we have always known
or what we have lived to be normal, but in reality we get to decide
what will be normal within our relationships
and within our homes. Our thoughts, actions, and
daily decisions will have an impact on generations
    to come. Powerful stuff.
