God Doesn’t Need You
An important step to getting better aquainted with God is understanding that He doesn’t need you. Acts 17:25 (NASB) 25nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things. Some people serve the Lord out of a sense of guilt—thinking God needs their help. God doesn’t need anything from us. He is the giver and it is a privilege to serve Him. I am amazed and humbled that I get to work for Him full time! Don’t serve Him because you have to—serve Him because you get to!

That’s how I feel latley that I get to help and want to be a part of this miracle and it’s humbling and you feel blessed!
Well, I went up front with the rest of the flock
Sunday and got my rubber band. I’m sure I heard a
couple of the ladies wishing they were in designer
colors. Anyway, I thought it would be a snap (pun
intended). And the days at home were easy, only had
to snap myself a few times for bad thoughts or
words. Then, I left for Texas for my work week.
After 16 hours at work I have had to replace
my rubber band as the original wore out and broke.
My wrist is sore. I went to central supply and now
sport an industrial strength 1/2 inch wide band.
I thought self-flagellation went out with the
Enlightenment. No matter, this rubber band keeps
me in mind of what I should be displaying – the
mind of Christ. I better buy my own box. They are
wearing out fast.
I think that every person has a chance to have God
in their life but some people chose not to have
him in their life.
I like what you have to say Richard, as always! I’ve lost mine twice when it snapped and went flyin!! I’m glad we have these to remind us daily of how to live. I serve because I want to and because I just love it!! Getting kids enthused about God is fantastic!! God is so great, He deserves much praise!! I was psyched when I was told I got to teach Sunday school! It’s a blessing!!
Amen Brother Jimmy! We GET TO serve the Lord and what a PRIVILEGE it is! This is exactly how I feel about serving in the ministry – what a thrill and what fun because we GET TO!!
You are right and the only reason he allows us to live from day to day is to do his work. For not even one day are we promised. I Thank him each morning when I am able to rise out of bed and put both feet on the floor. I even thank him for the floor. So, I will try to do what I believe has been set before me. I need God every minute of everyday.
