I really love the story of Apollos. The other thing that you didn't mention was that even though Apollos knew very little about the story of Jesus his zeal for that small portion was making an impact in the lives of those he was speaking to. Sometimes we feel that we have to have huge portions of the New Testament memorized or get to a point where we can quote the entire Sermon on the Mount or have a thorough knowledge of the Theology of the Bible before God can use us, but Apollos is a prime example of how God can use even the smallest truth in your life to change the lives of many people.

During my first years as a believer in college a family at the church that I was attending in Blanchard invited me to live with them for a summer. I learned more that summer about how the scriptures get lived out and expressed through the family than I ever have. That summer for me was one of my greatest growth moments. I lived with a family that modeled what a Christian home could be, I sat under the leadership of several great Christian leaders, and God showed me many amazing things.
