Bad To The Bone
The Word of God is amazingly powerful. I shared Monday how it is the secret to changing your life. What makes it so powerful? Why should we be committed to a daily consumption of it?
NIV Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Here we learn that the Word penetrates the surface and has the ability to separate the spiritual from the physical. It is living and when we read it in faith it exposes what is happening in the heart. Listening to sermons each week will encourage and convict you but when you begin reading the Word daily amazing things start happening in your life.
If you want to see what is going on inside of you read the Word because according to the writer of Hebrews “It is bad to the bone.”

This last week I felt like God was encouraging me to do some memorization. As I got His word in me there was definitely a separation between spiritual and physical. The spiritual side showed my physical side love and truth. When the spirit can soften the physical to tears it is a great showing of how the power of the Word can seperate and then bring back together for His glory.
I crave getting into the Word every day and I feel lost when I don’t do it. Scott – I’m in the same place as you on wanting to really memorize scripture. I got some little 3×3 sticky notes and started posting a verse for the week I want to memorize in different places – my monitor, my dash of my truck, a bathroom mirror – and I really want to follow through with this.
