Before leaving the topic of gossip I would be remiss if I didn’t share my strategy for avoiding it.  The most important thing to be aware of when it comes to gossip is myself.  I am the main catalyst for propagating harmful talk.

The Word of God is Powerful.  I am amazed by the transformation it produces in my life.

Last week I had the privilege of emceeing at the first D6 conference hosted by Randall House Publishing.  It was an amazing event and I commend Randall House for their leadership within the Kingdom.

I was reading in my journal this morning and today is the anniversary date of Harrah Christian School’s first day of class.  The following is an excerpt from 09-02-08:

When I was a kid and I wanted to go skating on Friday night I always started by asking my mom if I could go.  She always said, “Ask your father.”  So I would go to my dad and say, “Dad can I go skating mom said it was okay?”

Once you have your talk sheet created you need to rehearse it.  When I first started speaking (preaching) I practiced every sermon.  I had a rottweiler and if ever there will be a dog in heaven its him.

Once the research has been conducted a talk sheet should be created.  Your talk sheet is a map that guides you through the beginning to the end of your presentation.  If you are using curriculum or teaching from a book you should NEVER use these resources as your talk sheet.

As I shared yesterday confidence is the key to overcoming your fear of public speaking and preparation is how you increase your confidence.  The first step in preparation is research and study.  The more you know about the topic you are speaking about the more confidence and passion you will possess when talking about it.

Today I had the opportunity to pour  into one of the leaders at Harrah Church.  We talked about public speaking and a few things that I think could be helpful to many.
