Why do some people connect with God at a deeper level than others?  God does not show favoritism (Rom. 2:11) so the difference lies with us not God.  Some people are more sensitive to God’s activity in the world.

A couple of weeks ago I asked for people to share how their faith in Christ has allowed them to overcome their difficulties.  Kris Stevens shared her story in a comment and many of you wanted to see the video.  Here is her comment and a link to the video. 

We all face challenges in life.  These challenges can be overwhelming and leave us feeling discouraged and fatigued.  This is one reason the Body of Christ is so essential to us all.  We help each other through connection and encouragement.

What do you do when things in your life seem to be going from bad to worse?  Its simple−you do what you are supposed to do.  You do the best job you can with the hand you are dealt.  That is what Joseph did and he keeps getting promoted.

When you turn over a new leaf you expect things to get better.  That is not always the case when it comes to our faith.  Sometimes things get worse before they get better.  That was certainly the case with Joseph.

The Holy Spirit never ceases to amaze me.  He is constantly at work in the world and He provides the guidance necessary to faithfully follow Christ.  I love what Luke says about the Spirit’s leadership in Acts 16:6-10.

Jesus told His followers to pray and in Act 13 we see why. The power of God shows up when we pray. That is enough to motivate me to make prayer a consistent discipline in my life.

I love what Peter says in Acts 11:17, “Who was I to think that I could oppose God?”  I remember when I used to live my life as one who opposed God even though I believed in Christ.

Once again we see God simultaneously moving in two different people to change them both.  Cornelius and Peter were both prepared by God.  Cornelius was prepared to receive Christ while Peter was prepared to deliver Christ.

In Acts 9 Luke tells us that Ananias is a key player in Saul’s conversion.   Can you imagine the courage required for Ananias to go visit this guy who was breathing out murderous threats against anyone who claimed to follow Christ.  There is no doubt that he was nervous about the visit.
