Life can be overwhelming! I have 5 small children, my wife, 2 dogs, 2 horses, a growing ministry with a Christian school and early learning center, speaking engagements, family, friends, personal hobbies etc., that all deserve my attention.

Why do some people connect with God at a deeper level than others? God does not show favoritism (Rom. 2:11) so the difference lies with us not God. Some people are more sensitive to God’s activity in the world.

The mission of Harrah Church is to fully develop people in Christ. Healthy development requires people to be self-feeders. We cannot fully develop by listening to a sermon or two a week. We must be willing to go deeper.

We all face challenges in life. These challenges can be overwhelming and leave us feeling discouraged and fatigued. This is one reason the Body of Christ is so essential to us all. We help each other through connection and encouragement.

When things seem to worsen we must not only be at our best we must also trust God’s sovereignty. As a young man God gave Joseph a dream of making an impact with his life. For 30 years his life seemed to head straight downhill at breakneck speed.

Apollos was a spiritual giant in the early church. He was a first century Christian apologist that spoke with great fervor. The Greek word Luke chooses in Acts 18:25 is zeo—Apollos boiled hot for God.

The Holy Spirit never ceases to amaze me. He is constantly at work in the world and He provides the guidance necessary to faithfully follow Christ. I love what Luke says about the Spirit’s leadership in Acts 16:6-10.
